The Baltimore Oriole is back today at the feeder. Last seen here in late December.

I had a beautiful male Cowbird here at my feeder for the last few days of this very warm December. At the Nervous Nellies feeder we had a Baltimore Oriole! Just as pretty as the pictures.

Near Campbell's Island: 2 surf scoters, rafting Eiders, rafting buffleheads, several guillemots, several loons, a bald eagle.
Scott's Landing: pair of mallards, rafting Eiders.
Causeway across from Scott's Landing: half a dozen semi-palmated sandpipers.

Scott's Landing-8:30 to 10:00AM- 9.26.2011- 1 Lincoln's Sparrow, ~1000 Yellow-rump Warber, 2 BT Green Warbler, 1 Nasville Warbler, 2 Red-eyed Vireo, 1 Blue-headed Vireo, 3 Common Yellowthroat Warbler, a movement of 50 Blue Jays going in a southerly direction. On and on but just just a spectacular movement of highly intelligent beings!

Had a black bear at our bird feeder, @11:30PM on May 21st- for at least 30 min.- just about 8-10 ft from the house. He devoured the sunflower seeds. has not been back since then..

I'm quite sure there is a couple". Lovely CUR-Wiii song ...quick and short
Im hoping they will pick one of my " homes" to live in.

An eaglet and parent eagles on 'cupcake' island off Deer Isle and also a seal nursing a seal pup on a shoal off the same location. A loon was also spotted off Campbell's island towards the west end going towards the reach.

Eight days ago a birding friend, Shep Krech, located a very probable PACIFIC LOON in the Reach. It was last seen near the bridge. He and I would like to know if anybody else relocates this bird? It was seen at a long distance. We would like to confirm this sighting with a good photo.

PlumbPoint, Sunshine: saw an otter on the beach a few weeks ago. And saw a gray seal riding on an ice floe at the mouth of Greenlaw Cove north of the Sunshine causeway 2-3 weeks ago. Aslo, the Deer are back in the yard as the snow is melting.

On Plumb Point in Sunshine: Our birds finally came back- They arrived today- including Chick-a-Dees, Nuthatches, Gold Finch and a flock of Red Polls. They've all been gone for a couple of months. Also saw a Robin on the Sunshine Road!

Flock of several dozen red polls here yesterday at the feeder, along with chickadees, juncos, red-breasted nuthatches. A healthy fox in the nieghborhood, too: small, but with a busy black tail.
